Ein Guthaben pro Monat, einlösbar für einen beliebigen Titel, den du herunterladen und auch nach deiner Kündigung behalten kannst. It took me a while to warm up to Stephanie cause at the beginning she came up a little bit whiny (I think I’ve never heard the word collic more times in my life!

She is barely functional and wholly unready for the volcano that is about to spew lava onto her life. I’m sure in the author’s mind it was a fiendishly clever example of poetic justice meant to be her mic drop moment, but in reality, it just came across as horribly contrived, leaving me feeling cheated. The End of Her is a slippery eel of a novel - just when you think you have it in your grasp, it slithers away on a new current. Then all at once she knows what to do-she wrenches open a bottom cupboard and grabs a metal lid, then slides it onto the frying pan. It is a remarkably sudden turn of events that went against everything that had previously taken place and it did not ring true in the slightest.

I couldn’t foresee the startling climax in this fifth thriller by bestselling Canadian author Shari Lapena - as each prediction turned out to be wrong. Even more so when a volatile ghost from the past turns up at his New York office: Erica is her name, blackmail is her sport, and she is used to getting her own way. The sound of her babies wailing in distress creates a visceral reaction in her that she simply can't ignore.

Throughout the book, you are not sure what the character’s motivations are and what he really intends to do, which keeps the plot unpredictable. But dark shadows of the past loom large when a beautiful young woman from Patrick’s past reappears, accusing him of murdering his pregnant first wife – and demanding money to keep quiet about it. stars —I have had a love-hate relationship with Shari Lapena’s books (rating them between 1 and 4 stars) but am always intrigued enough to read her next book.

It took Samantha this long with Theodore to be able to evolve this much, how about those that have been bought a day or two prior to the exodus? The separation between Samantha and Theodore is, whilst unrequited, amicable and necessary, and seems to have allowed Theodore to re-evaluate his attitude towards love. Erica gives us someone we love to hate but there is a chance she is telling the truth and if she is, Stephanie and her babies are in grave danger.

How did Shari Lapena managed to pack all the tropes in one story and still manage to make it completely engrossing? I have to be honest and say that I don’t think this one is my favourite release of the Shari Lapena collection. I have a question to the readers of this book: did you fantasize six million ways of getting rid of shameless slut Erica by giving her slow and the most torturous death and keep thinking to hire John Wick for his impressive knife throwing skills? She hurries into the nursery, whispering shhh, shhhh… She picks each baby up, one at a time, soothing them, kissing their soft cheeks. But someone from Patrick’s past has come knocking and Stephanie’s world is about to be knocked on its axis.

I’ve noticed my reading choices of late have been either contemporary women’s fiction or cozy mysteries with a smattering of other genres here and there- but no psychological thrillers for quite some time. Samantha was constantly discovering, even in her sleep mode, which is absolutely clear that she was operating on everyone's devices simultaneously, I don't know how anyone could've missed that. No-one does suburban paranoia like Shari Lapena—this slowly unfurling nightmare will have you biting your nails until the end. I think he believed from Samantha's suggestions, that after death he would be ethereal and they would meet again. and reminded me of one of my least favorite characters in all the land (Amanda in David Bell’s The Request). She must remember to get Patrick to look at the smoke detector in the kitchen when he gets home tonight. Shari Lapena has done it again - another cracking domestic thriller, and trust me, 'the end' will leave you clamouring for more.
