About this deal

This power bank isn’t for everyone; the PowerCore is meant for those seeking the kind of experience that we’ve outlined in this review. The PowerCore+ 26800 is a powerful and ultra-high-capacity portable charger that features Quick Charge 3. Trickle charging mode, essentially, reduces the output charge for charging low mAh capacity gadgets such as headphones. This robust battery comes equipped with three output ports, allowing simultaneous recharging of various devices.

It’s not the kind of power bank that you’re going to be taking on your morning runs; it’s going to be the power bank that you take on your travels, to the office, or to the library to study. The unit is able to output charge from all ports (including the usb-c port) and I have charged multiple devices with it over the last 3 days and it has never dropped below the original 3 leds it started with. From my perspective, i’m of the opinion that the “optimized” verbiage is just marketing fluff and doesn’t really mean anything outside of perhaps a series of unit tests performed by licensed professionals to measure the consistently of delivering power within the range of a very specific, predefined tolerance level.Along with a colossal capacity of over 6 phone charges (26,800mAh), PowerCore 26800 is a serious slice of portable power. Several can comfortably fit into a pocket, while others are more suitable for transport in a tote, backpack, or laptop case.

The PowerCore Plus could have probably been rounded up to 30,000mAh battery capacity but, the likely reason why it wasn't isaircraft requirements regarding li-on batteries. With all that said, about the PowerCore being built very well and the side panels being placed very well, the charger is still one pound. Passengers can also bring two (2) larger lithium ion batteries (more than 8 grams, up to 25 grams of equivalent lithium content per battery) in their carry-on. Granted, some of these instances are likely the result of gross negligence however, while it can be argued that these users were intentionally doing so on their own accord, despite the several obvious warnings that are publicly available. We’re not sure how Anker managed to do it, but the charging cable used to connect the power bank stayed very strongly throughout each of the 3 ports.Build quality with nearly all of Anker’s products is great; even with being made with plastic, the PowerCore 26800 is a structurally sound-made power bank. I plugged it in with the provided 30watt wall charger and the provider usb-c cable that came in the bundle. com and PC Magazine are among the federally registered trademarks of Ziff Davis and may not be used by third parties without explicit permission. ounces, and its credit card-style design allows for storage in a wallet — a distinctive and relatively rare feature for these products.

You get to choose the cable that suits your needs — either a lightning cord or a USB-C cable — ensuring it's always ready for those times when your phone battery depletes before you make it home. All of the ports can be found on the top edge, adjacent to a circular power/status button with a set of white LEDs to show charging status. Oh, and if you're thinking of pick one up for yourself, make sure it says USB-C PD somewhere on the description. That’s a lot of power, and the best part is that the power bank uses Panasonic battery cells, the same kind of batteries that the Jackery Bar uses. The 26,800mAh cell capacity of the PowerCore Plus is also interesting since most power banks are rounded up to whole numbers such as 10,000mAh or 20,000mAh. Use the included cable, your original cable, or a third-party certified one (such as MFi); AC adapter not included.
